NC State Researchers Predict ‘Normal’ 2017 Hurricane Season for East Coast
Using Poisson regression and LASSO variable selection methods, the NSCU hurricane forecasting team predicts between 11 and 15 tropical storms in 2017, which is slightly above average. The prediction team includes Lian Xie, Joseph Guinness, Marcela Alfaro-Cordoba, and Xia Sun.
